Caribbean Climate Justice Journalism Fellowship (applications open). This Fellowship aims to empower and support dedicated climate journalists across the Caribbean region to effectively report on climate justice issues.
The Sharon Begley Science Reporting Award will recognize and support journalists who exemplify excellence in covering science for the public. The award will provide a $20,000 grant to a mid-career science journalist whose work exhibits the high standards Begley’s reporting embodied. Deadline: April 30, 2024.
The Sharon Begley Science Reporting Fellowship combines a paid reporting position at STAT with an educational component provided through the Knight Science Journalism (KSJ) program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The one-year fellowship is intended for early-career U.S. journalists from racial and ethnic groups underrepresented in the profession and will prepare them for a successful career in science journalism. Deadline: April 26, 2024 at 5 p.m. ET.
Apply to Join the Ocean Reporting Network (ORN): The network will establish a collaborative ecosystem of journalists around the world. Together, they will uncover the harmful and illegal practices of the fishing and extractive industries, systemic threats to marine biodiversity and coastal communities, and the supply chains facilitating global demand for the ocean’s increasingly dwindling resources.
