☀️ Opportunities
The Economist invites applications for the 2022 Richard Casement internship. They are looking for a would-be journalist to spend three months of the summer working on the newspaper in London (covid-19 permitting; otherwise remotely), writing about science and technology.
Story grants on green recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic. EJN is offering reporting grants to support the production of in-depth or investigative stories that will highlight progress toward a post-pandemic "green recovery".
CASW opens entry window for 2022 awards, fellowships. The Council for the Advancement of Science Writing is accepting submissions for five academic fellowships and three major awards to be bestowed in 2022—including a new $20,000 career prize, the Sharon Begley Science Reporting Award.
The ABSW awards for 2022 are now open to entries. There are 14 categories, including a new one for podcasts with a £1075 prize to celebrate their 75th anniversary.
The deadline to apply for the 2022 Logan Science Journalism Program is January 31, 2022. There are two different applications: one for the Environmental Hands-On Course and one for the Biomedical Hands-On Course.
Apply to the Victor K. McElheny Award. The award will honor one work of journalism — print, digital, or broadcast — with a $5,000 prize. Submissions will be accepted through Friday, January 31, 2022.
